The V1cam is an official webcam of the USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory, trained on the western part of Halemaʻumaʻu crater at the summit of Kīlauea, on Hawaiʻi Island. The pan-tilt-zoom camera helps scientists track activity in the summit caldera, including any lava at the crater floor. Views depend on the weather and the volcano itself; clear nights can reveal incandescence.
